Hylamide is fast becoming one of my favourite skincare brands. They have so many products to suit different skin types and they are affordable. I recently reviewed one of the newest launches the Hylamide High Efficiency Face Cleanser which has become a staple in my routine. One of the most hyped about products is the Hylamide products is the HA Blur Primer/Serum. I have seen so many people rave about this product and I have now been able to test it out myself.
The HA Blur is described as a blurring primer that blurs pores and lines that is suitable for all skin types. It says it can be worn alone, under makeup or over makeup. I have oily skin on my nose and chin, small dry patches on my cheeks and the rest of my face is normal. I have really put this primer to the test. One thing that draws me to the brand is the colourful packaging, it really helps it stand out and I always notice the range in Boots stores.
It is described as a serum but also works in the same way as a primer. The consistency isn't thick nor runny but when I squeeze a small amount it stays put (see image below). It is easy to blend, I find it is best to use my fingers. I can definitely agree with the blurring aspect. I have large pores around my nose and this helps to blur them. It doesn't feel sticky and it isn't matte, again it is somewhere in the middle. I get why this will suit so many skin types. I do notice how it slightly helps to balance out my skin tone which always helps before I apply my foundation.
I found this works really well over my dry patches, it instantly smoothed out my skin. In the area's I am extremely oily I found this didn't keep me shine free all day but it did keep my makeup looking flawless. I usually apply a mattifying primer just on my nose and chin then go over it and my whole face with the HA Blur and it creates the perfect base.
I think this primer is perfect if you have combination or dry skin as it keeps your skin hydrated whilst smoothing over any imperfections, lines or pores. I loved how it didn't feel heavy on my skin and it doesn't leave a tacky base like most primers/serums. I haven't tried this over my makeup as I have never really applied products like this as I powder my whole face.
All in all I am very impressed with the Hylamide HA Blur and I get why so many people rave about it. You can buy the HA Blur for £19 from Look Fantastic, Beauty Bay and more online.
