A warm toned neutral palette is me 100%. I have never really worn cool toned shadows as I just don't suit the grey, silver, purple kind of shades but show me warm neutrals and im all yours! When I saw this Blank Canvas Master Series Palette arrive on my doorstop I got ever so excited as it is literally a palette for us warm neutral lovers. My eyeshadow collection is growing alot this year, before this year I never had lots of palettes but now I see the addiction.
Once I swatched this palette it instantly reminded of the New Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette which is warm tones too. Blank Canvas is a brand that is based in Ireland but ships internationally. The products are aimed to be affordable. I love the name of the brand and when I went onto the website to read more about them they advise they chose this name for the brand as they think of the face as a "Blank Canvas with endless possibilities".
The packaging is very lightweight which is perfect, I love finding palettes that are travel friendly. This palette is made of thick cardboard but still looks high quality. It consists of twelve shades, eleven of which are matte and then you have one pretty shimmer shade. Im all about that matte. Matte eye looks are my go to especially on those quick makeup days.
Lily | A pale pink base shade.
Goddess | The only shimmer shade in the palette. A gold/champagne shimmer.
Core | This is very close to my skin tone hence the swatch not showing up much, it is a nude pink shade again perfect as a base or transition shade.
Hibiscus | Red toned brown, looks lovely as a crease shade.
Brazen | One of my favourite shades. Nude pink toned brown, such a pretty shade. Looks lovely all over the lid or in the crease.
Carmin | Another favourite, it is a red toned brown.
Cocoa | This is very similar to Makeup Geeks Cocoa Bear, a red toned brown but slightly darker than Carmin.
Downtown | Dark brown shade.
Forza | A light brown nude.
Hickory | A deep chocolate brown.
Strut | Dark nude with a hint of pink.
Corruption | This is almost black but has a hint of dark chocolate to it.
I have been using this palette non stop lately. The shades are stunning. One thing I did notice is when I first tested the shades I didn't use a primer and especially with the lighter shades I found I had to build the colour up. The second time I used them I used a primer and it made a huge difference! The colours were pigmented and lasted much longer. I would recommend using a primer with these. I only use the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Nude Pink.
The Blank Canvas Master Series Palette retails for £30.45 which I think is very reasonable for 12 shadows. As I said it reminds me alot of the new Urban Decay Naked Palette. The palette has over 60 four-five star reviews.
