Happy New Year! Hope you all had a lovely NYE. I went to London for a few days and watched the fireworks, it was amazing. I will be doing a post/haul of my trip to London but i need to take more pictures so it will be up either Sunday or Monday. Today i decided to review my Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation which my boyfriend bought me for Christmas. I haven't tried a Mac foundation before but i have loved all of my other Mac products iv tried.
First things first, the packaging. I love how it does come in a glass bottle which also makes foundation feel that bit more expensive but it doesn't come with a pump. It really does annoy me how you pay money for a top quality product but then they leave the pump off just so they can make extra money. I actually bought the pump a few days later from Selfridges which in store it only cost me £3.60. Once you put the pump on you cant put the original lid/top back on the foundation. One thing with the pump is that it does twist so you cant push it down by accident.
Next is the shade, my boyfriend picked this up in NC20 which is a yellow tone. Once applied on my skin it is a pretty good match and doesn't look too yellow based. I have tried applying this with my flat top face brush and also my Real Techniques Sponge. I found applying it with my brush did give me fuller coverage than using the sponge but when i used the sponge it spread the product better and i didn't use as much. The coverage i would say is medium.
So did it work well and last with my oily skin? I applied this early in the morning and used my Mac Studio Fix Powder on top and i then checked my foundation again around early afternoon and found it seemed to last well and not go patchy. The only thing i did notice was that it did cling to the small dry patches i have on my cheeks at the moment due to the horrible weather.
Overall i think this is a good foundation especially for oily skin rather than dry skin. Have you tried this foundation?
