MAC Cosmetics Haul inc Swatches

Friday, October 31, 2014
Today is a Mac day. I haven’t purchased products from mac for a while now so it was about time. I only picked up two bits as I thought id be good. I got the Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation which iv been eyeing up for so long. Then I also got my first every mac eye shadow…I know I know iv waited so long and I don’t know why. I chose “Tempting” its such a gorgeous shade.

MAC COSMETICS HAUL

MAC COSMETICS HAUL

Iv wanted this for months and finally got my hands on it. It comes in a compact with a sponge to apply with and a mirror. What I love about this is that you can use it 3 different ways. If you just want a light coverage use it on its own as a powder & foundation, apply it with a powder brush. For medium coverage apply on its own but use the sponge it comes with. Finally I use it for full coverage, I apply my foundation and then use a powder brush to apply this over it and it gives such a flawless finish.

I have blue eyes and I love bronze & gold shadows. This is the perfect shade. It is so pigmented and I love to use it all over the lid or just in the crease. When I apply this im impressed that it doesn’t go everywhere. Usually I hold a small piece of tissue under my eye to catch any dropped bits but I really didn’t need to with this.

Elf Haul

Monday, October 20, 2014
Its Monday, its raining and its cold so whats better than receiving new goodies in the post? I started Christmas shopping last week online and some came today, its mad to think im Christmas shopping as Christmas seems so far away but its really not. Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?

Elf Cosmetics is one of my favourite online brands. Its cheap yet the quality is amazing. Iv been buying from them for quite some time now. One of my favourite products is the brow kit, it comes with a gel and powder but works wonders. Here is a just a little post about some products iv recently received and ones iv never tried before. So what did i buy? I got two lip liners, a contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder from their new in products and also another Blush & Bronzing Powder in "St Lucia" which iv been trying to get for months and it was always sold out and finally it was back in stock so i had to grab it.

ELF HAUL

ELF HAUL

St Lucia (on the left) & Fiji (on the right) both £3.95

St Lucia
How stunning are these shades? St Lucia iv wanted for months and months and finally got it and it was so worth the wait. How stunning is the bronzer in this? I love how it has the slight goldish effect, it reminds me of Mac's Mineralize Skinfinish. The Blush is such a subtle pink that looks perfect with the bronzer.

Fiji
Fiji is perfect for autumn. I love that these are matte as i dont always like to wear the shimmer shades. The blush is so pretty and like a rose colour. You only need a small amount as it does go a long way. I would honestly say these are better than some high end brands iv tried.

Lip Liner in "Bark" (on the left) | £1.95
These are one of the softest lip liners iv ever had. I couldnt believe how easily they went on and how soft they were on my lips. I wanted a liner to go with my dark nude lipsticks and glosses and this is perfect.

Lip Liner in "Bitter" (on the right) | £1.95
Iv recently bought one of the Rimmel Apocalips in "Eclipse" which is a dark berry tone and when i applied it i thought it would look better with a liner and this was perfect. It also works well with my Bourjois Lipstick. Its the perfect berry colour.

Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Foundation Review

Saturday, October 18, 2014
Hello Lovelies…How’s your weekend going? Anything Interesting? Iv just done a little more shopping as usual. Bought a gorgeous coat/jacket from River Island, I will be posting about it soon. Im back to a beauty review today. Iv seen this foundation around on a lot of blogs getting horrible reviews. Usually bad reviews would put me off buying a product but I decided to give it a go anyway. It is the Collection Lasting Performance Foundation. On nearly every blog iv seen this on I read that every single shade is orange and it dries to quick so you cant blend well. So whats my verdict?

Collection Lasting Performance Foundation Review

Collection Lasting Performance Foundation Review

Firstly I have to say I love the packaging. For £5.99 it comes in a glass bottle and with a pump which is more than Revlons Colorstay Foundation. I hate foundations that don’t come with a pump when they are in bottles…anyone else find this annoying?
Why did I buy this you ask? Well number one is that it is oil free and secondly it states it is full coverage. I love trying any foundations that have those two statements. When you see the shades in the bottle they all look the same so I did need to test them on my hand. I tested a few shades and found none of them came across orange like mentioned on other blogs, so i thought maybe it didn’t seem orange until applied? I chose the shade “Cool Beige”.
Collection Lasting Performance Foundation Review

So I shook the bottle well as stated and pumped a few dots onto my face. I blended this in using my Flat end face brush I found it blended so easily and didn’t dry quick at all. It gave me enough time to blend well without a struggle. Also the colour was perfect, it didn’t look orange at all. Looking at the photos it looks a little lighter than in person but it looks natural. As you can see it completely covered my blemishes and gave me a flawless finish. I haven’t applied any powder or concealer above but once I did it made my skin look so flawless.
Will I buy this product again? Definitely. Maybe it depends on your skin and what you want it for. But for me it was easy to blend, great colour match, full coverage and it lasted most of the day which the one application of Soap & Glory's “One Heck of a Blot”
I would honestly say this is better than my Revlon Colorstay Foundation.
Have you tried this foundation?

Boots Makeup Haul

Thursday, October 16, 2014
Finally we have had a day of sunshine after all of this rain and windy weather. I went into town with my mum for a girly morning of shopping and breakfast. I got a few more bits from the River Island sale even though iv ordered things online from it too…oops. I will do a blogpost on those and some other fashion bits soon. This afternoon iv been a baking queen. Iv baked jam tartlets, rocky road and my giant vanilla cupcakes. I also picked up a few new beauty buys today which im in love with…

Mua Eyeshadow Palette “Winter Forest” | £4.00
This palette is stunning. I got this from the MUA website, I just had to have it. I don’t have many matte eyeshadows so this was perfect. The pigments are amazing.
Rimmel Apocalips “Eclipse” | £6.49
Iv seen this around on many blogs and iv not really been interested In them. I was in boots today and decided to have a look and thought this shade was perfect. It looks more red in the photo above but in person it is more of a purple shade. It looks so glossy and the colour is amazing. My mum got a matte one of this which I don’t do the whole matte lip look.
Iv been looking for a good liquid eyeliner for a while, im useless at winged eyeliner but I wanted to start practising. I heard this is great for beginners. The colour is amazing, the above photo is after one stroke. It dries pretty quick and doesn’t smudge.
Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil “Hazel” | £2.99
I wanted a pencil for the days I only want to lightly fill in my brows. This pencil is lovely, the colour isn’t dark and still gives me the natural brow look.
Seventeen Stay Pout “Just a Fling” | £4.49
Nude lips seem to be all the craze at the moment. I did want the Soap & Glory Nude lipstick but they had sold out. I was browsing the Seventeen section and came across this dark nude which is a better shade than the S&G one I originally wanted…Bonus. It’s a lovely shade just what I wanted. I applied it as soon as I got home and it felt wonderful, it doesn’t dry out like some lipsticks and lasts for ages.
Barry M Nail Polish “Damson” & “Paprika” | £3.99
Damson is a lovely blue shade iv seen around a lot and it is from their Gelly section which gives extra shine. I cant wait to wear it. Paprika is from their Autumn range it’s a lovely terracotta shade im in love.
Witch Foaming Facial Wash | £3.99
Iv recently ran out of my Simple foam face wash so thought I would try something different even though I do love the Simple one. I saw this and loved that it is for oily skin types. Anything that helps reduce excess oil is a great buy for me. We will see if it is as good as my Simple one.

Soap & Glory's Scrub Your Nose In It Review

Wednesday, October 15, 2014
Good Morning Fellow Bloggers…Hope your week isn’t going to slow. Im waiting in all day today for my new upgrade from Vodafone, im slightly annoyed as it was supposed to be here last week and when I phoned to find out why it hadn’t turned up I was told someone was supposed to call me and tell me the phone was out of stock. So I went online and they have it in stock, so I called back very angry and ended up being told the phone is in stock! Annoyed is not the word. Anyway enough of my little rant, I want to review Soap and Glory’s Scrub your nose in it

Soap & Glory's Scrub Your Nose In It Review

Soap & Glory's Scrub Your Nose In It Review

Soap & Glory's Scrub Your Nose In It Review

Let’s start with the packaging it comes in a blue and white packaging with the title “Scrub Your Nose In It”. The product itself kind of looks like a large toothpaste tube! I’m not sure if I like the toothpaste tube look as the tube is soft and misshapes exactly like a toothpaste tube. So overall I don’t rate the packaging. Usually I love Soap and Glory’s packaging; I think that’s what makes them unique.

So what does it state it will do? Well the description is a super clarifying, triple action, diatomaceous earth mix – it helps to exfoliate, clean and purify the skin, lift away pore-clogging dead skin cells, soak up excess oils, and stimulate fresh oxygen to your face”. This product is designed for oily/combination skin types.

I use this product once a week. I wash my face as normal and leave it slightly damp. I apply a small amount onto my finger and gently rub into my t zone especially rubbing into my nose. I love that it is blue and it smells very minty fresh and feels very refreshing. I massage this for a minute or so and then leave it for a couple of minutes.  I wash off with warm water and then apply a moisturizer.

Have I noticed a difference? Yes. Which is amazing as iv tried so many products that have done nothing at all. I struggle which blackheads in the sides of my nose but this has helped reduce them massively. It has also helped reduce the excess oil and leaves my skin feeling silky smooth. The Soap & Glory Scrub Your Nose In It retails for £9.00 from Boots.
10/10

Brand Focus Makeup Revolution Haul

Monday, October 13, 2014
Hello you lovely lot, hope you all had a good weekend. Do anything good? I went and watched Gone Girl on Saturday and was quite surprised. It wasn’t what I thought but it’s very intriguing. Don’t worry I won’t say anymore incase you are planning on watching it. I also bought the book which I am now going to start reading; some of you may think what’s the point when I’ve just watched the film. But I find books have more detail and like to see how it is interpreted in a book. I’ve also had a chilled out day today which a face mask and this afternoon I’ve been doing some tattoo designs for my sister.

I know iv kind of slacked on my Brand of the Week posts but these will be on a weekly basis. Either on a Sunday or Monday. This week’s lucky brand of the week is “Makeup Revolution”. I have previously posted about some of their products and I know many bloggers seem to love them. Iv recently received some more products which I haven’t seen mentioned a lot on blogs.

Eyeshadow in “Chocolate Deluxe” | £2.50
Iv seen this eyeshadow set for quite a while and added it to my basket with all of the other goodies. I love the gold and bronze tones so when I saw this it was perfect and the redish colour is so pretty. They also do other colours too. The pigments are amazing in these.

Makeup Revolution Haul

Iv seen a lot of people with the pinkish palette and thought id go for something different as I always usually go for pink blushers. This set is lovely, the colours are so pretty and im surprised by the size of the palette. I thought they may have been a little smaller but you get a good size of each blush.

Makeup Revolution Haul

I love the packaging, the design on the box to the bright pink lipstick tube. Its so girly. The colour itself is a lightish red berry colour which feels very soft once on. Iv swatched it once and then a few times over to show how the colour builds up. Its such a pretty shade.

Overall im loving Makeup Revolution. They cant seem to do anything wrong. The prices are amazing. The quality of the products is unreal for the price. I want to try more.

Drugstore Full Coverage Foundations

Friday, October 10, 2014
Brr it’s a little bit cold outside! Cuddled up with the candles lit and a oversized jumper…perfect and of course the fact its Friday!! Whats everyone's plans for the weekend? Im going to the cinema tonight to watch Gone Girl, iv also just bought the book for it. Tomorrow it may be a Frankie & Bennys Breakfast day, if you haven’t had one you need to! They are so yummy and all breakfasts are £5 whether its pancakes or a fry up.

Most of the time I like my foundation to be full coverage. Depending on how my skin is depends on which foundation I use. I own a lot of foundations then forget I own some of them. If you already read my blog you will know I have quite oily skin but can also go dry in odd places. So finding a foundation that works for me is a nightmare. Many foundations claim to be full coverage but they aren’t. I thought I would do a post on some full coverage/foundations that claim to be full coverage and give you my honest opinion and what skin type they will work for

Full Coverage Foundations

Maxfactor | Revlon | Elf | Rimmel | Seventeen

Full Coverage Foundations

Full Coverage Foundations

Maxfactor Miracle Touch “Golden” | £12.99
In the photo this foundation does look a little darker which it says compared to the others because I use this one when I have fake tanned or if im on a night out. It is more of a mousse than a liquid. It comes with a small round sponge which is perfect for applying. I found applying this with a brush didn’t work but with the sponge it applied evenly and gave full coverage. It isn’t heavy on the skin which is a surprise. The size of the pot looks small but you do get a lot of product. You can get lighter shades if you wanted to use this during the day. If you want a foundation that’s great for nights out and lasts all night then this it it.
Full Coverage: 10/10

Skin Type: I have an oily base and this works so well. I woudnt recommend this for dry skin types as It will cling to dry areas.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation “Sand Beige” | £12.49
This is a recent buy over the past few weeks. I heard so many good things about it. It looks quite a thick liquid but its not at all and applies nicely and evenly to the skin. Id say it is kind of full coverage but iv found other foundations that are better coverage. I don’t find this foundation lasts all day like some of my others and goes a little patchy which iv never had before. The biggest downfall is that there is no pump…I hate trying to get product out and find I waste too much. I do think you can buy pumps that fit these.
Full Coverage: 8/10 (but doesn’t last all day)

Skin Type: Revlon actually do one for oily skin and one for combination skin types.

Elf Flawless Finish Foundation “sand” | £7.50
Iv had this foundation a long time now. Sand is the second lightest shade which usually other brands “sand” is a darker shade. This does have a pump…yay and is a glass bottle. It is a semi-matte finish but I find it doesn’t look matte on me so always apply powder. It is very light weight and perfect for a daytime look. If my skin is quite clear I will use this but if I have any breakouts I find I need more coverage so this isn’t best. Lasts well, just need to apply powder once during the day.
Full Coverage: 7/10

Skin Type: Oily/dry. I think it would work well with all skin types.

Rimmel Stay Matte “Soft Beige” | £5.99
As you can see this is a slightly thicker foundation. This is one of my favourite products to use, it is full coverage and helps with my oily skin. I do apply with a round ended makeup brush or if you want a little extra coverage then apply with your finger tips. I find this works so well with Rimmels Stay Matte Primer too! Lasts all day!
Full Coverage: 9/10

Skin Type: Oily skin. Not for dry skin as it will cling to dry areas and dry your skin out more.

Seventeen Stay Time Foundation “Natural” | £6.49
If you read my blog you would of seen this in my “Brand of the Week” post a while ago. I have to say this is just amazing. It is definitely full coverage but isn’t heavy, doesn’t look cakey and looks natural. Its lightweight and the colours are great matches. The bottle it self I love, it twists at the top so you can lock and unlock the pump.
This is better than the Revlon Colorstay and is cheaper!!!
Full Coverage: 10/10 (1 more than Rimmel Stay Matte because it is lighter and not as thick)

Skin Type: Amazing for oily skin as it is oil free but I think it would also work for dry skin types.

Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot Review

Tuesday, October 07, 2014
Hello Lovelies, How is your week so far? Im so tired today, my sleeping pattern seems to have gone all over the place and im struggling to sleep. The weather is horrible today, its windy and cold so im glad im here in my comfy clothes watching films. Today's post is about Soap and Glory’s One Heck of a Blot. Iv kept looking at this product in boots for quite some time and finally decided to buy it as they had a buy 1 get 1 half price offer. This product I haven’t seen around much in the blogging world so I thought I would review it.

Soap And Glory One Heck Of A Blot Powder Review

Soap And Glory One Heck Of A Blot Powder Review

Soap And Glory One Heck Of A Blot Powder Review

Firstly I have to say I love the packaging. I don’t think Soap and Glory ever fail with the packaging. I love the design it looks so girly. This. This one comes in a box but is cut out so you see the product. I love how the powder has a design printed into it which gives It a more professional finish.

So your probably thinking how is this powder different to any other, right? Well the packaging states it is for all skin tones. On the back it says “Degrease shiny skin by patting One Heck of a Blot across your forehead, nose and chin. Repeat when you need it”. The case includes quite a large mirror inside and also a pad to apply it with. I never used the pads included as I like to use my Real Techniques powder brush.

Iv been using this product for the past week and im in love. As it says you can apply as the day goes on I got this in “Translucent” as I didn’t want it to look cakey or as if I had applied more powder. I apply this as a normal powder once iv done my makeup and it lasted many hours. I do have oily skin so I touched up not every day but on the odd occasion and it didn’t look cakey. Yay! You couldn’t tell I had re applied any more makeup but it did reduce the shine as it states.

Overall I would definitely buy this product again without fail. It retails at £12.00 which is more than your drugstore powders but I think Soap and Glory are in-between drugstore and high end makeup.

Have you tried any Soap and Glory products?

Autumn Makeup Look

Sunday, October 05, 2014
Sunday Night and here I am in my joggers all cosy waiting for the X Factor. Today has been a typical Sunday being lazy online shopping and playing on the Sims. Have you had a fun Sunday? Iv recently done a post on my Autumn Must Haves which you can read here. So I thought as I did a fashion post for Autumn why not do my favourite makeup items that are perfect for the Autumn too.

Autumn Makeup Look

Autumn Makeup Look

Autumn Makeup Look
Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette “Iconic 2”
Iv had this eyeshadow a few months now and I love it. I have blue eyes so I picked this one as it had many gold and bronze shades. The pigments are really good and look lovely on. It is mixed of matte and shimmer which I love. For £4.99 how could you complain? These shades are perfect for Autumn. Makeup Revolution do 10 of these style palettes with different shades but they also do other palettes too.

Gosh Giant Blush Stick “shy”
I bought 2 of these about a month ago. It is a beige/brownish shade and looks so pretty once applied. I usually wear powder blushes so it was nice to try a cream blush for a change. They have a twist bottom so you do get a lot of product for the price.

Makeup Revolution Blush “Love”
Makeup Revolution seems to of become more known in the uk over the past month or so. I bought some of their Heart Blushes which is a too faced dupe a long time ago before it seemed to of been in the blogging world.  I usually wear pink blushes so this coral shade is something new and I love it. It is a powder blush and you really get a lot out of it, yet it is so cheap at £1.00!

What a stunning shade! Berry tones are my new favourite so this lip crayon is perfect. I picked this up as my boots were doing a buy 1 get 1 half price on Rimmel products and if you read my blog you will know im a big lover of Rimmel. This crayon leaves your lips feeling moist and doesn’t go dry and lasts quite a while.

Mua have a new range “Luxe London”. These products cost slightly more than the normal range but they are so much better. I also bought the Eyebrow pen which is amazing. This lipgloss as you can see above is quite a dark nude shade. If you don’t like the matte look on your lips then this isn’t for you.
